Seagate 8gb pocket HD - $36 shipped with google checkout.

very temping

Price has certainly come down. segate's site, when you try to purchase from partners says the price is $138+.

They says it's a rugged design, but it's still a conventional hard drive design with all those moving parts. I believe I'd rather pay the extra money for a flash drive if I needed something this size. I could get a corsair 4b flash for around $40.

There I've officially talked myself out of it.

Crazy good deal. I'd get one but I really have no use for it. I'm not in school anymore, and I don't find myself needing to tote around a large amount of files between computers.

I have a 256MB Cruzer Mini or whatever and I've never really needed more space than that at one time.

I bit but caughed it back up.

I just got an 80gb 2.5" external drive for free-ish. given the slow speeds reviews showed, I don't think it's enough of an improvement in space savings to make it worth buying; I'd rather have a bigger flash drive for a standalone product.
