I need to clone an SD card (Pi hole application).

How do I do that with a 2018 MBP?

copy to /
take out old card, put it new card
copy data back to new card

Disk utility should let you make a disk image of the card then you can just image it back on.

Otherwise, you are looking at doing a ditto command to make sure you get all the files.
