Scared of SP2

Ok well i reinstalled my OS and installed sp2 after sp1, but now i am scared to defrag my hard drive, last time i did it. It made my computer inopperable, any one know how i can defrag, because it really needs it since i reinstalled every thing. but what i did notice was last time i tryed there were 3 files it couldn't move. but i didnt have sys restore on, so i have it on this time can i get back on if it fucks up?

Out of curiosity, why did you - upon reinstalling the operating system - put SP1 on? You can go from out-of-the-box to SP2 with no problems.
