Is a SATA Harddrive that much better than the other kind like utra ATA or whatever its called. Is it a worth upgrade?

It is only worth the upgrade if you are going to run RAID. Other than that you will see almost no performance difference.

I just recently got a WD Raptor @ 10k RPM SATA and I absolutely love it...now I am not a huge person on benchmarking..so I haven't got any technical specs for ya...

However, what I am able to say is my games load WAY faster...installing Windows XP Home was nothing short of amazing in the time it took..

So in all over "peppiness" of my system...I would say seeing is believing...and I am definitely a believer of my SATA Raptor.

So, depending on what your planning on upgrading from, I would definitely say it is worth it

I went from one ATA 100 30 GB 7200 RPM HDD, to Dual SATA 10000rpm Raptors in Raid 0 and I noticed the biggest difference in tthe world...

it was better than going from my P3 500 to my T Bird 1.2...
