SAS info with pricing at Anand's

That article is kind of odd. It says that SAS is more like a successor to Fibre Channel rather than an extension of SCSI.

I really don't see it that way. SAS is the logical successor to U320 SCSI. Admittedly, there are some Fibre-like features such as dual porting and switches (known as expanders in SAS talk). However, the drives are priced similarly to U320 drives when they were released and will probably follow a similar trend. SAS also has the added benefit of being able to connect SATA drives to the same controller for your really mass storage needs.
