Sapphire 7870 for $185 AR Shipped

Man I can't believe these things are down to $200 now. A pair of these in Crossfire would be a MONSTER system. $400 and you'd be done buying video cards for years.

Gah, my target GPU at under 200 dollars, too bad lack of income and the never settle bundle is tempting me away... :(

Love my 7870, if you're on the fence about these cards, just do it at this price.

I was just looking at some benches and thinking the same thing and I'm not sure it is. Its certainly a faster card but not by a whole lot and certainly not $100 worth of difference.

I want it but I'm scared by the user reviews. Anyone have trouble with their 7870s?

I have the MSI TwinFrozr 7870 and I love it.

@Robstar: I would say it's worth it if you're playing at ultra high resolution. At 1080p my 7870 is kickin' ass. If not, $100 for a 7950 is a big jump and probably not worth it.

Somtimes I play at 1680x1050. Sometimes I play at (1680*3)x1050 eyefinity.

I'm currently using a single 6850 1GB, but I have to turn details down @ eyefinity resolution. I'm also wondering if my 1090T is going to cpu limit me at eyefinity if I go for 7950 instead of 78[57]0.

I have a QX6850 with my 7870 and I haven't noticed. I don't think a 1090T will bottleneck you. Overclock it and you're good.

I wouldn't think so. I had a 1090 running at 4.0 and never had any problems with my 5870. Even with the higher resolution, I think a 1090 overclocked will be enough to handle a 7950 or less. Civilization V and Starcraft 2 seem to be pretty hard on AMD procs but the other 99% of games I'll day you'll be fine with.

There's a deal on slickdeals for the 7950 right now, 3GB. I game at 2560x1600, so IMO its worth it. If you're on a 1080p screen, maybe not.

Think I could get away with one of these on my Antec Earthwatts 500w? IT has two +12V rails, 22a on each. Looking to upgrade from my GTX 260...
