Have the following ordered. Most of us are probably ordering chips now or picking em up tomorrow.

2600k from Newegg
Noctua NH-D14 from Amazon
Asus P67 Pro from SuperBiiz
OCZ Vertex 2, 120gb from Newegg
8GB G.Skill Ripjaws, DDR1600 from Newegg

Keeping my 4890 until I find a DX11 game I absolutely have to play or when I upgrade to Eyefinity.
Keeping my HAF 932
Keeping my Corsair TX750.

Going to take advantage of my companies computer purchase plan. I can submit my receipts and they will cut me a check and split the amount up evenly over my paychecks. Pretty slick system.

OCZ GameXStream 700W PSU (old equip)
Apevia Jupiter X case (old equip)
OCZ Vertex 2 60 GB SSD (old equip)
Dell 2408WFP 24" monitor (old equip)

Will be using stock intel cooler and researching water cooling. I have heard that wc may not be necessary for good OC with Sandy.

^^ Watch that gamextreme psu bro, VERY bad power supply. I scorched my ATX12V on my tpower i45 with only a quad core Q6600 and this power supply.

Asus P8P67 Delux
2500k
16 GB Gskill Sniper series DDR3
Cooler Master Hyper 212+
AMD 5850, already have this.
Might pick up an SSD as well.

LiteOn $16 dvd burner
Samsung 27" p2770
SeaSonic X650
G15 motherboard
G500 mouse
Corsair 600T case

ssd one day when prices are reasonable

Over time the demands of the tpower board with it's lacking 4 phase design and the q6600 looking for power crippled it and it scorched my ATX12V port. Literally smoked and caught fire, nearly killed the computer. The gamextreme wasnt able to handle it with it's massive ripple it conducts.

I have been running that ps with a q6600 for almost two years now on a Asus P5Q deluxe.
I have been lucly so far, but I will keep a lookout.
Thanks for the warning

to lap or not to lap the processor's IHS.. every Q6600 I've stumbled across seemed to have a convex shaped IHS and responded positively to a lapping of the IHS... very easy to do, and they resale just fine too.

Phew.. basically just spent my college reward (1/3 of job signing bonus) !

Here's to a rig that will last me another 4 years like my trusty Q6600 (retiring @ HTPC duty :D)

CPU - Intel Core i7-2600K ($329 from egg)
Mobo - ASUS P8P67 PRO ($190 from egg)

GPU - 2x XFX 6950 2GB ($600 from egg)
PSU - Corsair AX850 ($150 from egg)
HD - Crucial C300 128GB ($245 from egg)

Displayed on a BenQ EW2420. Thinking of buying two more for Eyefinity.

If I did upgrade, it's nice knowing I already have everything but the CPU and mobo in my existing i7 920 system. :)

The temptation ... :p

Asus P8P67 Deluxe
XIGMATEK Gaia SD1283 120mm CPU Cooler

$635 overnight shipping

Was going to drive to Microcenter in Overland Park, Kansas but it's a 4 hour drive+ round trip in this weather, snowy a slick plus there is a Chiefs game + gas + tax. All said and done, I would've dropped the same money going down. So yeah ....

I also had problems with that PSU. I ended up returning it to OCZ 3 times, before their awesome customer support upgraded me to an OCZ EliteXstream 850 for absolutely free.

My problem was if i ran my 3870's in Xfire, it would cause my computer to reboot after a while. Turned out the psu couldn't supply a clean 12a rail and it caused the video cards to crash.

It only affects the GamerXstream series IIRC. Everything else is gold.

i5-2500K (will purchase for $180 from Microcenter this week)
Gigabyte P67A-UD4 ($187 from provantage)
CM Hyper 212+ ($25 from amazon)
G.Skill 2x4gb ddr3-1333 ripjaws ($90 from newegg Hot Deal)
XFX HD 5850
XFX 650w PSU (PSU and GPU were $200 from Newegg as a combo, another Hot Deal)
120gb X-25M ($165 newegg black friday Hot Deal)

I challenge anyone to show me a better gaming rig that can be assembled for $850. I'm glad I check Hot Deals often, because I got some pretty awesome deals.

See my sig...been up for about a week or so. Mangaed 5.2ghz so far. on Air. soem tweaking to go yet.

CPU: i5-2500K
MB: Gigabyte UD3P
GPU: Asus 6950 (to flash to 6970)
Case: Antec Dark Fleet DF-35
RAM: 2 x 4GB G.Skill Sniper 1333
SSD: Crucial C300 128GB
PSU: Antec 620 Eco

This is coming from an E5200 (2.5Ghz Pentium) that won't overclock more than 100MHz and an HD4830 that gets way too hot for my taste. I expect to notice a difference.

New:
CPU - Intel Core i7-2600K ($329 from egg)
Mobo - ASUS P8P67 PRO ($190 from egg)
RAM - Corsair Vengeance 1866 8GB ($150 from egg)

HD - X25m-G2 80GB
Case- Antex P182

Going to sell my Q9550 setup.

See sig. All brand new parts except for the case. Bought that from a friend since he upgraded to a ft02.

Coolermaster HAF X
PC Power and Cooling 750W (Re-using )
Gigabyte UD4
i5 2500K
G.Skill Ripjaw X 8GB
CoolerMaster V8 cooler (Re-using )
XFX 6950 (6970 flashed, Re-using )
OCZ Vertex 2 120GB
WD Black 1TB (Re-using)
Samsung Blu-Ray burner
3x21.5" Samsung Monitors
140mm Red LED fan

This build is apparently sponsored by CoolerMaster and Samsung (I wish!)

Have everything except the mobo and CPU in hand. Didn't really want to use the UD4, I was looking for something with UEFI bios, but keeping with the red and black theme, I couldn't get one of the pastel Asus mobos, and nobody had the Sabertooth or AsRock Fatal1ty.

Upgrading from a Q6600. I think it'll look and perform pretty amazing. Can't wait to finally get into the world of SSDs!
