Samsung has officially released the Galaxy S8 Active, available to pre-order tomorrow through AT&T, and will be available in stores Aug. 11th. The S8 Active features a 5.8" AMOLED screen, 12MP rear camera, and a metal body that's compliant with the MIL-STD-810G specification for water, dust and shock resistance. It also comes equipped with a larger 4,000 mAh battery compared to the standard S8's 3,000 mAh.
I would definitely prefer the Active version over the standard with how I usually end up treating my phones, and I'm not a fan of the Edge display on the Galaxy lineup. While there is some bundle specials, the S8 Active is only available through AT&T Next at this time, for $28.34 for 30 months, which works out to $850.20. Ouch.
Samsung Galaxy S8 Active, a Galaxy smartphone that offers a durable premium solution for life's everyday missteps. Designed around a metal frame with an improved, rugged structure, this device is shock-, shatter-, water-, and dust-resistant. The smartphone will be available in stores on Aug. 11 in either Meteor Gray or Titanium Gold. For a limited time, the latest Galaxy S8 Active device will be exclusively available from AT&T.
