Well, this is disappointing:

"I had a g7 32 for 9 months or so and ended up selling it to grab an XB323U GX. The g7 was a good panel, but the colours always felt dull and the great contrast was negated by the bad back light bleed. So I just accepted IPS for its flaws and have been happier"
Clarification: i went through two Samsung LC27HG70 screens, and they all came with blotches/clouding, which i was told is common on "curved" VA screens, and had to send back each one in turn. I can only assume this is what the above comment is referring to (and not actually backlight bleed).
So the problem is still there, on a 700 euros screen. And i also learned the supposed "flat" version of this screen will be IPS.
There's just no escape. Every time i gaze at the monitor market the same problems keep popping up again and again.
