Samsung CHG90 49" 32:9 Curved 4K 144 Hz FreeSync HDR LCD Monitor - $999 at B&H

I've been interested in this monitor for a while, still don't have a G to drop on it. Worth noting that the 4k is a bit misleading, its 3840x1080, not 2160p like most people think of with 4k.

It was $999 on amazon on black friday and is back at that price right now on amazon, tends to fluctuate a lot.

I’ve seen this display in person and it’s better than I expected for productivity use. I don’t think it would be good for gaming because I expect most games would have an awful fisheye lens view since FOVs in games aren’t going to be compatible out of the box and are unlikely to support this 32x9 ratio.

Its a shame its 1080p. If it was 1440p or better I'd be all over it.

1080p for $1k USD just seems like Samsung cheaping out, IMO. 1440p or better, like you said, is where all the competition is at.
And they still claim "4K" for a 3840x1080? Where's the logic in that?

Had me fooled with the title. I was excited for 144 hz and 4k.

The pixel density is a drag but the real dealbreaker for me is that this isn't really close to displaying true HDR. The backlight dimming just isn't granular enough by a long shot.
