As expected, big price drops on SSDs around Prime Day. 2TB 980 Pro Gen4 for $99.99 is the best price I’ve seen by at least $30. The 1TB is also $60 again which was a daily deal about a month ago. Amazon, others may have similar pricing.

I’ve had 2 of these 980 Pro since 2021 and haven’t had any issues with the premature wear issue, firmware updated when it came out about 6 months ago.

Was planning to hold out for some 4TB SN850X but this was too good to pass up. If the WD goes on sale I’ll just return these unopened but ordered 2 just in case. But PS5, laptops, NAS will all get hand me down upgrades and these will go into my gaming/productivity rigs.

Amazon still give you $10 off if you use one of their lockers? I was waffling back and forth the last time, I think it was the 2tb 970 evo plus that was on sale for this price and I was bouncing between "well I don't need it now, but maybe I will" and ended up not getting it.
 
Damn, almost pulled the trigger on this when it was $122 last week! Glad I waited. Thanks for posting, just grabbed one.
 
Grabbed two a couple weeks back at $120.

No regrets. Fewer regrets at $100/ea.

I ended up returning the 2x2TB I got, I don't need the storage yet and by the time I do, they'll probably be even cheaper still. The PS5 and laptops can wait, as they've still got plenty of storage as well.

It’s been that price on and off for longer than the 2TB was $100, so I’d say it’s just the new price expectation.

Newegg had it for $50 for a day as part of their Prime day match promos, slightly better deal and very very close to that buy it at the check out line and not even really think twice about it price.
