I have never had issues with using fstrim in Ubuntu before, but with this drive, I am getting:

fstrim: /: FITRIM ioctl failed: Input/output error

Has anyone seen this error before? Do the Pro versions do their own garbage collection?

"This TRIM bug can cause affected drives to zero out 512-byte blocks of data in incorrect, seemingly random locations. For larger files, the net result is corrupted data, while smaller files can be overwritten entirely."

Well, that's definitely alarming. Thanks for the link!

The qued trim problem again? Thought it was fixed in later linux versions.. Windows dont have it anyway..

The blog post referred to in the techreport article is talking about an issue that a particular company's servers had with unqueued TRIM. The reason for that problem is so far not known, and Samsung is investigating:

"UPDATE June 19:
On Monday June 22, the engineering team from Samsung is going analyze one of our servers in Singapore and if nothing will be found on-site, the server will travel to Samsung HQ in Korea for further analysis."
