Samsung 4gb DDR3 1600 (this is the low profile, low voltage stuff)

Anyone know when/if they'll have 8GB DIMMs of this stuff?

Even if they did come out with some, it would probably be with the 20nm ICs which are uncertain at this point.

If you want low-profile, decent overclocking 8GB sticks, check out Crucial's Ballistix Tactical or Ballistix Sport.

Yep, that. The memory in the OP is what, CL11? Yowch. Not such a hot deal, IMO. I have a 2x8GB set of the Ballistix Tactical (1600 CL8) running at 2133 9-10-10-28-1T at 1.55V. I paid like $70 for it.

The samsung ram is way underated at what it actually can run. You'll see this on neweggs listings below. For this price...it is a good deal. I may pick up 3 sticks for my x58 setup, but I'm thinking I may go with 8 gb sticks

Then you will have passed up some of the best ram on the market. Great 30nm chips, OCs like crazy, is low voltage and low profile, so it has no problem with large HS's.

Thanks for the heads up, was waiting for a deal again after it went OOS the last time @ Newegg.

FYI: The single stick, 1x4GB, has a free (3-5 day) shipping option (you don't have to meet the $25 requirement) even if you buy a single stick.

I'm surprised you aren't familiar with this ram (being on [H] so long). It's some great RAM after all. Very high OC's for a very low price, on low profile sticks. It's not for everyone but it's definitely a good deal, definitely!

I bought some with a 15% off memory coupon on Newegg a while back. This deal is even better than that one. Great RAM at an awesome price!

Limit of only 4 per customer :(. I was hoping to upgrade my X58 setup to 24GB for less than $100. Maybe Newegg will match Amazon's price and I can get two from them...

This ram is monstrous, it has multiple profiles as well for tighter timings. It's hilariously overclockable anyway, though, you won't have problems tweaking it to your liking.

Also no gigantic, bullshit heat sinks.

Great deal, OP. I have this same RAM in my rig, think I paid $35 for 8GB in September. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

I love the Samsung ram. I have 4 sticks running at 9-9-9-24 1600mhz at only 1.35 volts. Great buy!

Love this memory. That's a damn good price. It will make great stocking stuffers for myself on X-Mas day. :)

ive been playing around with this stuff for the last couple days. I bought 8 sticks the last time they were on sale, its worth it for sure. right now im running them on a vishera rig at 1866 9-9-9 @ 1.35 volts, 8 hours prime stable and counting. 2133 boots and runs fine but I haven't got it stable yet.

Bah, I already have 8gb of this RAM, but I just bought another 8gb. I don't even need 16gb.....oh well, perhaps I'll throw it in a HTPC I've been wanting to build.

I've been running 2x4GB of this at 1600 7-8-8-22-30@1T 1.45V no problems. Anyone running that at 4x4GB? If I was a good lil boy this year santa may be bringing me another 8GB kit xD

Could i combine three sticks of 4gb ram with three sticks of 2gb ram (both 1600mhz, unsure about matching timings) on an i7 mobo for a total of 18gb?

With as much as you've invested in a system like that already why not just step up to 6 of these as they're known to overclock well. Then you don't have to worry about the timings of the 2 GB sticks dragging you down.

These will run memtest for hours on my ga-p55a-ud4p but randomly crash and cause boot loops. Gonna have to do the memory shuffle between machines. Odd since my friends p55 ud6 is fine with them. They're awesome though.

Ima have to remember that one.. So when my wife questions a credit card charge I can just make a funny face & tell her I got gas..

I learned that one from the musical world where people keep collecting instruments they barely (never) play.

I really wish they would offer these in a 8GB size...I currently have a 4x4GB G.Skill 2133 quad channel kit, but it's XMP timings are 11-11-11-XX @ 1.6V..I have tried to tighten the timings a bit, but it doesn't seem to like it, and it's not like I can really jack the voltage up..The 1.35V default voltage of these are very, very appealing considering I am on an IVB platform, which loves low voltage memory..
