Hey guys,

Looking at the Samsung 49" C49HG90DMN and I've seen a lot of older threads elsewhere complaining about backlight flickering issues when pairing it with an nVidia graphics card. I know this is a FreeSync screen. Do any of you have this screen on nVidia, and if so, how has it been?

Well I went ahead and got one, and actually so far so good! I'm driving it with a RTX 2070 laptop at the moment even. getting around 85 fps in CoD: MW, and over 100 in Forza Horizon 4 :)

This monitor flickers regardless of video card used because it uses PWM dimming to control brightness. The PWM frequency of the backlight on this monitor is 433 Hz, so it's relatively high meaning it shouldn't bother most people.

If so, I must not be sensitive to it. Looks rock solid to me.

I had flickering in many games with proper range Freesync Ultimate Engine turned on (in the monitor menu). I'd double check you are OK in this regard, as this is one of the biggest issues with this monitor. Some people seem to be OK, but its definitely an issue for many.

Obviously make sure G-Sync is turned on within NVCP also, and the box marked 'Enable Specific Settings for the selected display model' is ticked under 'Set up G-Sync' section.
