What about gamivo? For sum reason CD keys is more expensive than steam lol
Does this include Kinguin? I've only ever purchased from CDKeys so I'm not sure about any other onesI use g2a and greenmangaming... just be careful with the grey key sites because there is a certain element of risk buying from them.... Some times the keys can be sold twice and the key you buy can be already activated... Other than that I have not had any issues with the ones that I listed
Those are all grey market sites, I wouldn't use any of them myself.Thank you for the heads up! I see they mention only buy from G2A, Kinguin, CDKeys also so now I know!!
Never had any issues right? I got one game from them and didn't have an issueCD keys is good I picked up maybe 12 games from them.
Unfortunately both of those were the same price as steam so there was no point in using them... Kinguin was the cheapest but only by a few dollars so it wasn't worth the riskI've never had any issue with CDkeys or Greenmangaming, I've bought many games from both over the past 7-10 years.
Definitely hit or miss recently. They have had much better deals in the past.Unfortunately both of those were the same price as steam so there was no point in using them... Kinguin was the cheapest but only by a few dollars so it wasn't worth the risk
You might as well pirate if you're going to be that cheap, the developer is generally getting very little to nothing of the money you pay for keys on grey market sites.I’ve successfully bought from Kinguin, G2A, Gamivo, Eneba, and CDKeys. I have run into trouble on a couple of occasions (I think both times with G2A) where I got issued a key for the wrong region or the key was already activated (I was however able to get a refund or new key). Those are the exception though and I still feel it’s worth it for the savings over time.
I always check cheapdigitaldownload.com and isthereanydeal.com for best key prices, but understand hesitancy to buy when there are so many shady places to choose from.
Arggg, just call me Scrooge McSparrow. You might as well pirate if you're going to be that cheap, the developer is generally getting very little to nothing of the money you pay for keys on grey market sites.
There's a lot more trustworthy sources besides a wordpress blog that say the opposite. I've posted several before and don't feel like digging any up but there's plenty of stolen keys(bought with stolen credit cards, produced with a keygen, or in a few cases straight up stolen from the dev/publisher/distributor) on those sites and at best your buying a key that was meant for a much poorer market which even if you ignore that part of it very little of the money you spend is going where it should and instead is enriching those helping you circumvent the normal market. All of this to save a few bucks over the key sites that give most of the money you spend to the people responsible for making the game.To the ops question as to whether or not the grey market sites or their keys are legit I’d recommend checking out this article:

Provides a detailed analysis of how these sites operate and where most of their keys come from. Regardless of your moral position on purchasing grey market keys, the vast vast majority are obtained and resold legally. If you think buying keys from these sites is hurting developers (I don’t), then buy elsewhere.

Not the same as pirating games you 99.99999% need a cracked executable, which in turn is where most infections come from, while many are clean, just as many are bad pending on your sources vs buying a CD key and the full game that is downloaded and patched anyways from the vendor. You might as well pirate if you're going to be that cheap, the developer is generally getting very little to nothing of the money you pay for keys on grey market sites.
I used to run cracked executables to get around CD checks(on bought games) back in the day and it was easy to avoid infections as long as you got the file or a crc to check it directly from a known cracking group, many of which appear to still be around based on references to them I still see occasionally. Not the same as pirating games you 99.99999% need a cracked executable, which in turn is where most infections come from, while many are clean, just as many are bad pending on your sources vs buying a CD key and the full game that is downloaded and patched anyways from the vendor.
