One game I have been really looking forward to.
The original games don't have any issue running on modern hardware.I wish they remaster the OG STALKERS and incorporate some of the best mods, cause I remember the OG STALKER games have CPU performance issues.
I doubt this is coming out in April 2022...expect a delay announcement
That's a stand alone mod, I want a great mod for the first games to replay them before 2 is out.You realize there's a separate thread on this very forum about the best STALKER mod available, right?
Ah got it. I still recommend you try Anamoly. That's a stand alone mod, I want a great mod for the first games to replay them before 2 is out.
I second this. Play Anomaly Scojer.Ah got it. I still recommend you try Anamoly.

I hope not. But I think it will. Same with Atomic Heart.
Multiplayer DM huh...could be fun. Hope it doesn't detract from the SP experience. I hear that the game is going to be a 200GB install...S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 New details and screenchots
The December issue of PC Gamer magazine features STALKER 2 on the cover, but hunting around in advance of that, I found some new info on aroged.com.
Several new screenshots and confirmation of a new creature ("psy-deer") and free deathmatch + team-deathmatch multiplayer post-release.
Otherwise not too much new here... maybe the PC Gamer exclusive will contain more tidbits.

According to GSC Game World, over thirty quest designers have been working on the plot of STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl. The estimated length (likely including side content) is around a hundred hours and non-linearity will be a key factor as players progress through the game
that sounds epic!
Thanks for jarring my memory, I remember now...Original STALKER had multiplayer, but like most tack on multiplayer modes died quickly. Not sure why they're bothering. Unless it is some free to play thing that they can monetize. Game would actually work if they did some Tarkov style thing. But I have little interest in such a thing.
Give Anomaly a try, its all three games combined into one and its free.I've played call of pripyat nearly 750hrs so I'm really looking forward to this one.
No disrepect to Metro, but those games didn't attempt to tackle something as open and complex as STALKER. The vibe may be similar but the world and gameplay are not. There really is no other game like STALKER even now.I wonder if the S.T.A.L.K.E.R series will still resonate with gamers today...it seems to have been somewhat remade with the Metro 2033 series
And it offers a ton of mods to further improve all aspects of the gameGive Anomaly a try, its all three games combined into one and its free.

I love the fact that you can take out a member of a certain faction, put their patch on your suit and infiltrate them, BUT run the risk of becoming a target of your favored faction. And it offers a ton of mods to further improve all aspects of the game
Playing it now, its definitely not nostalgia, there's no limits to it, you're free to do what you want to do and make it as easy or difficult as you want it to be.was it really as open world and complex as you remember or is that just nostalgia?
Metro is more like a by-the-numbers linear FPS. They opened it more with Exodus, but it still doesn't have the complexity of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games.Playing it now, its definitely not nostalgia, there's no limits to it, you're free to do what you want to do and make it as easy or difficult as you want it to be.
I had fun with Metro, it was a good game with a lot of memorable moments (The LibrarianNo disrepect to Metro, but those games didn't attempt to tackle something as open and complex as STALKER. The Garbage will definitely be in it90% of it will be filler garbage i bet.
This was the slavjank one - highly recommended! https://www.moddb.com/mods/solyankaI’m cautiously excited for this - but this being funded by Microsoft is very concerning. I’ve been playing STALKER since the super early leaked build back in the day. Haven’t kept up with current mods, but OGSE, STALKERSOUP, Nara-whatever-the-fuck slavjank full conversion, Lost Alpha, and CoC were some of the best times I’ve had with any PC game.
Fuck....Microsoft is involved?! Great. Well, we'll have to rely on the modding community to fix it then, yet again! They do such a good job though.I’m cautiously excited for this - but this being funded by Microsoft is very concerning. I’ve been playing STALKER since the super early leaked build back in the day. Nowadays the generic "fetch item X from Y and return to Z" or "go to A and kill B" quests ought to be procedurally generated.90% of it will be filler garbage i bet.

I'll be optimistic and hope actual people are being used to write custom side quests with non-generic goals to accomplish.
Yes it is/was but that's with playing it using Anamoly. But even the vanilla games are beyond the scope of what Metro did.was it really as open world and complex as you remember or is that just nostalgia?
You should definitely play Stalker Anomaly, I can't praise it enough, its free and it combines all the Stalker games together. Its very stable and I haven't run across any bugs. There are lots of cool addons (mods) as well to enhance your experience, (stick to the ones put out in 2021)I like the premise of these games, and I enjoyed the Metro games, but everytime I tried to get into any of the original STALKER games I ran into serious bugs and immersion-breaking moments. I'm willing to give the franchise another try though, and I hope this game is solid.
GSC Game World is implementing NFTs in the game. You may say "no big deal" to the scope of it in this case, but it is a slippery slope that we don't want to start down.
