Hello everyone!

I bought a ryzen 5 2600x for my gaming pc and I will be pairing it wil a 5700xt red devil, to play games like Far Cry 5, RDR2, Witcher 3, and heavily modded Skyrim in 1440p 144hz. The 2600x costed 125 euros and the 3600 costs 200 euros. Did I do the right choice? It seems like there is a big price difference between the 2600x and the 3600. Is it worth spending more money and getting the 3600?

Thank you !

I would say at that rez and Hz, it is mostly all up to your GPU for performance. If you put the 75 euros saved towards your GFX card, you made the right choice.

Alright seems I will stick to the 2600x. I will also keep an eye on 2070 super cards just in case I find a good deal. Thank you for your replies :)

I pulled the trigger on a 2600 and Tomahawk Max last night so yea, right choice :)
Once you're up and running, if everything you want to do runs well just wait till the 3000 series prices drop if you feel you need more CPU horsepower

2600 non x in my machine and couldn't be happier. Doesn't brake a sweat. Games great and it handles other tasks just fine. Just waiting for zen 3.

2700x is $159 on Amazon right now and you get 15% cash back on your Amazon prime credit card if you got one.

Can't be beat imo

I have all the parts for my youngest son's new gaming computer. I was in about the same boat choosing between the 2600 vs. the 3600. I got him the 3600 because it's the one I wanted. He might not really notice the difference.

Unless you're very price constrained I see no reason to go 2600x over the 3600. I would have loved to have a 3600 instead of my 2600x but I was considerably price constrained and didn't have a real choice. Still, it was a huge upgrade over the Q6600 I had been running for more than a decade.
