Overclocking around 19 minutes in. They push the system to 4.1ghz and it dies once they try Cinebench. Oops!

Do they pay you to post this tripe???That's what i have been saying. Soon people will realize that their 4.6Ghz 6 Core Intel is faster than Ryzen x1800. In AMD bullshit world that 6 core is running 3.2Ghz with disabled quad memory channel and what not.
who cares about quad? That's what i have been saying. Soon people will realize that their 4.6Ghz 6 Core Intel is faster than Ryzen x1800. In AMD bullshit world that 6 core is running 3.2Ghz with disabled quad memory channel and what not.
Shoot.....I've had rigs run forever without issues, happily pushing 100% utilization all night long several days a week only to have it crash once in a blue moon when doing essentially nothing. My 5820k is pretty sensitive to settings and the difference between 4.4Ghz stable and 4.2Ghz crashing took some fiddling. Nothing to be worried about here as far as I am concerned until more Ryzen OC data is gathered.
They probably didn't have this badboy in place.
who exactly are you preaching to? As mentioned above your analysis is shit as is most of your posts on the difference between differing CPUs. All in all AMD is around 40~45% inc with SMT and Intel @30% with HT so you are gonna need that extra clock to keep up.That's what i have been saying. We need hardware turbo buttons again!
Wait so no one has had an overclock crash? You all must be really fuckin good you tweak with 100% certainty lol.. They were tweaking with the radeon utility which is probably going through its early issues. LOL, I can't believe how people jump on to shit like this.
6 core intel running at 4.6ghz? I got a 6850k, after 4.4 you have to give it so much volts to even get anything higher its not worth it. Give me reviews where they have 6850k running at 4.6ghz. Toms hardware and most of other ones I have seen end at 4.4 as most stable.

Crash? I'm not so sure.
They kept talking as if nothing happened while the press stood there like "what the hell is going on..?".. It seems the stream cut out at an unfortunate time and that's it.

Your replying to a troll bot. Intel has a shit ton of em. AI is getting good at appearing human and its scary.
Screw this troll.
Skip to 19:15 to see the crash.
Honestly, that's not the end of the world. I mean, how many times has my computer crashed trying to overclock, lol!
No kidding. Try overclocking with jumpers. lol the "good old days"
Idiot pros tried to overclock it on the fly without adjusting any voltage. What probably happened was it worked prior to demo by just applying the same setting to all cores and then crashed during demo. If you overclock you would know a thing or two about unstable overclock, getting you one quick run and then failing on second try. That is an example of hurrying the fuck up and trying to run a quick bench and not tweaking that shit.
They just applied 4.1ghz to all cores and hit apply. I didn't see them change anything else, they probably had a run earlier, and it worked lol. Dumb asses.
I'm surprised they didn't vet some OC settings for that exact chip to show to the press.
I have that exact case it doesnt have the fake speedometer, but has a cutout and window for one... has an amd 486 66dx2 in it.

Not sure why you're making it sound like a 4.6GHz overclock is common on the 6 core Intel chips because it's not (unless you're not talking about Broadwell-E). The majority of them will only hit 4.3-4.4GHz with a few lucky ones that will hit 4.5GHz while still under 1.4v. 4.6GHz? Maybe one in a hundred. That's what i have been saying. No... no we don't....
Back in those days that idea was handed down to engineering teams as a "marketing feature". Engineer shook their heads, and added button that did basically nothing. When it worked... and didn't crash the machine.
It's not like they could downclock a chip and then claim "turbo".
