running windows programs

i have a new 15" Macbook pro. i need to have a few windows programs installed on my system. i have a cd key for xp pro but i do not have the install cd. is there any kind of windows emulation program or anything that will just let me run and install windows programs if i only have a cd key and not the install cd?

this is a legit key that i have. i bought it i just can not find my install disc

You can get Crossover, and that will let you run windows programs. (no CD key necessary, as it's not a windows install)

VMWare, Parallels and VirtualBox will require the CD to install, as will BootCamp.

That will do what you want but it is not foolproof.

I would download VirtualBox (free) and get your hands on a legit XP CD to install a real VM. That way you know you will have 100% compatibility.
