RTX 5xxx / RX 8xxx speculation

1200 is my limit, the day a 80 series exceeds that, its over for me, I focus on my other hobbies instead. I am hoping the 5080 is that ball park and if not, its a used 4090 for me in the 900 range?
Just forget about the 30-series cards then :LOL:. Unfortunately folks are still paying brand new prices for used AND broken 4090s. It is insane as someone who buys broken cards and fixes them when I want extra money to spend on stupid things

so when 5090?
AMD competitor is due in early 2026.

So by dec next year Jensen will bless us with the 5090 / 5090 super / 5090 ti / 5090 super ti or whatever it is

Can't say exactly when before December next year

Oki if thats true of course. I will buy 4090. Cant wait for +-december 2025 for 5090 : )

What I understand as of now is till Jan 2026, AMD will not have a card more powerful than 7900xtx on shelves

These are the designs that AMD has reportedly scrapped
  1. Navi 36 (4090 competitor)
  2. Navi 43 (replaced by navi 48)
  3. Navi 42 (7900xtx successor)
  4. Navi 41 (5080 competitor?)
  5. Navi 40 (5090 competitor? )

There is no incentive for Jensen to waste precious silicon on gamers

He will likely badge a '5080' as 5080 ti / 5090 & sell it this year. Once he feels that AMD is near, he could sell more powerful cards

what resolution do you play at?...do you even need a 5090?...or do you just want one because it'll most likely be the fastest GPU?...why not just get a 4090?...it's not like that's going to be obsolete anytime soon...or get a 4080 Super

he had one, sold it. hes been doing this run around most of this year. half think hes been trollin

hu, stick to the console until what you actually want comes out.

A 5090 will likely come out this year. Will is be a "true" 90 class card? Maybe, maybe not. That would be in line with the 40 series. If a 5090ti comes out next year, you might as well wait for the 6090 and the cycle will continue.
In short, buy the card you want if it comes out when you want it.

For my current configuration , a 4080S is more than enough but I desire a OLED version of the Samsung 57 incher, preferably from LG and thus, I would want significantly more head room. I sold my 4080S due to hand surgery and subsequently, I wont need a powerful card until around October. It is my hope that we will know more about the 50 series by then.

gaming?

you really don't need a 5090...a 5080 will be more than enough...I'm also at 1440p and even the 4080 Super is an excellent GPU for that resolution...I'm looking at a 5080 mainly because I need to have ray tracing and all the graphics settings maxed out and I prefer to play at native versus using DLSS

thx i will think about it

Blackwell was announced to start volume in Q4 2024 in Nvidia release call and apparently high end Lovelace production are quite down already (https://money.udn.com/money/story/5612/8124759)

Wihch seem to keep situation what it was, who knows, could happen anywhere from q4 2024 to q2 2025.... ?
https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/nvidia-rtx-50-series-may-launch-sooner-than-expected/

Because of one way, issue is fix and volume should start in 2024... but it is quite later than expected on the other hand... so, half full or half empty kind of news.

I was thinking back to RDNA 1 launch 5 years ago. If we apply 50% cumulative inflation (8.5% annual inflation), then:

  1. 5700xt::8700xt = $400::$600 (4070 ti super)
  2. 5700::8700 = $350::$525 (4070 super)
  3. 5600xt::8600xt = $280::$420 (4070 gddr6)
  4. 5500xt::8500xt = $200::$300 (4060 ti 8gb)

50 percent inflation? What country are you in? US inflation since 2019 is 25 %, 499 for the top product

I’m seeing two new rumors that are conflicting. One rumor is the top tier Radeon will be the 8700 xt, then I saw a rumor saying that the new 8800 xt will be under $600 usd and have the performance of the 4080.

8800 xt rumor
https://www.tweaktown.com/news/1000...080-performance-for-half-the-price/index.html

8700 xt rumor
https://www.techradar.com/computing...in-the-rdna-4-line-will-be-the-amd-rx-8700-xt

Obviously both of these cannot be true. Thoughts?
Names can change last minute. Ignore names

Top card is navi 48 xtx
Next one should be n48 xt
Last n48 xl

Then n44 xt
N44 xl

I expect n44 xt should have raster & RT of 4060 ti 8gb priced at $300

N48 xtx should have raster of 7900xt & RT of either 4070 super or 4070 ti (likely) or 4070 ti super (optimistic) & price of 4070 super.

All the above are guesses but realistic/reasonable

So 5080/90 is confirmed delayed till Feb 25 looks like? Seems like I sold my 4090 too early despite getting back all I paid for it after 20 months .. 4070S giving me upgrade itch already lol.

Somewhat surprised that there have been no decent deals on the 4xxx of late, should have picked up that $799 4080 super used from BB back in June to keep or flip. My $400 4070s will need to battle on for a while...
