RTX 4xxx / RX 7xxx speculation

And maybe somebody's already mentioned this but I'm guessing the typical user that has a 1080p monitor and is looking at a 60 class card probably only has 16 gigs of system ram which means running out of VRAM is going to be even more of an issue for them. Go look closely at some of the detailed reviews and even before 8 gigs of VRAM is getting full utilized, it is already spilling over into system ram pushing system ram usage to 18, 19 or even 20 gigs or more where as that is not happening on GPUs that have 12 gigs of VRAM.

Projection by 3d Centre on top of speculation by RGT

AMD likely to avoid direct confrontation with Nvidia except at the lowest end ($200)
& also mid-range ($400)

Curiously there is a significant gap in the $300-$400 segment. This is likely to clear old stocks.

If I take the liberty to project the price of radeon cards based on 6nm 7600 & 5nm 7900xt, then
for 6nm 12 CU ~= $100
for 5nm 11 CU ~= $100

6nm
6gb 24 CU 7500 = $200

8gb 28 CU 7500xt = $235
8gb 32 CU 7600 = $265

5nm
12gb 40 CU 7600xt = $370
12gb 48 CU 7700 = $420

16gb 54 CU 7700xt = $500
16gb 60 CU 7800 = $550
16gb 70 CU 7800xt = $635

20gb 84 CU 7900xt = $765

24gb 96 CU 7900xtx = $880

So based on the current state of leaks / rumours, this is how the full RDNA 3 stack is likely to look:

24gb 96 CU 7900 xtx ($900)
20gb 84 CU 7900 xt ($750)
16gb ?? CU 7800 xt ($600 - $700)

16gb 60 CU 7800 (~$550)
16gb 54 CU 7700 xt ($450 - $500)
12gb 48 CU 7700 ($400 - $450)

16gb 32 CU 7600 xt ($330 - $380)
8gb 32 CU 7600 ($270)
8gb 28 CU 7500xt (~$240)
6gb ?? CU 7400xt (<=$200)

Speculation by MLID:

7800 XT is likely to be a cut down (70 CU) Navi 31 rather than a full Navi 32 (60 CU) because AMD is not able to sell sufficient 7900 XTs

Probably, they're both cutting/gimping/crippling cards - the vast number of AMD fanboys on this site will never admit it too.

The AMD card 'price cuts' headlines and articles are annoying though - this is only being done in the USA - countries in which graphics cards are expensive - Canada, European countries, Australia, for e.g. - are not making any cuts. The only price reductions I've noticed are open box cards - or on Amazon Warehouse deals - either returns or the hardware was damaged in some way - i.e. scratched up etc.
The price cuts are mostly at Microcenters, too, I think. But, the narrative seems to be - look, at AMD card prices decreasing below MRSP - 'celebrate and get excited!'
Yes, sure, if it was more than one location in the world! :)

There's too many issues with this series - and the prices are still too high - and now the new releases - appear to have their own crippled architecture.

True, if you live near a MicroCenter in USA, then you can pick up a 7900xt for $200 less than its launch price !!
Pretty good. Yeah, I've read posts - here and other sites - of ppl picking up an open box at a MC and they mention the price....and I'm like.... :-O !!!!

Latest speculation by MLID

Navi 31 70 CU 16gb likely to be an orphan release like the 6700 10gb (non-xt)

price could be "high" ( $600 — $650+ ?? )

Igor takes a cut down 70 CU workstation that has not been released for desktop consumers & concludes that performance ties with a 6900xt or between a 4070 & 4070 ti

https://www.igorslab.de/en/amd-radeon-rx-7800xt-review-as-radeon-pro-w7800/8/

I would add a third point for not selling a 70 CU Navi 31 card.
It is too close to a 60 CU Navi 32 & what if AMD managed to fix the "performance bugs" in RDNA 3 🤔

AMD Navi 31 GPUs as of now:

7900 XTX 96 CU 24gb
7900 XT 84 CU 20gb
7900 GRE 80 CU 16gb
7900 70 CU 16gb (MLID Claim)

In terms of availability, the Radeon RX 7900 GRE will only be released by three board partners: Sapphire, PowerColor, and XFX. AMD itself will produce a reference model, as indicated by official materials and its availability for media reviews. Official slides show US pricing of $649 and AMD China did confirm that RX 7900 GRE will launch globally through system integrators.

https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-rad...5120-cores-16gb-memory-and-260w-tbp-costs-649

Unlike the rumored 5376 Stream Processors, this model offers 5120 cores, with only 80 Compute Units enabled on the GPU. As a result, the card comes with reduced specifications compared to the RX 7900 XT, affecting memory (20 GB vs. 16 GB) and memory bus (320 vs. 256-bit). The Infinity Cache has also been reduced from 80MB to 64MB. Additionally, the TBP (Total Board Power) has been lowered to just 260W.

It’s worth noting that the memory has been down-clocked to 18 Gbps, resulting in a bandwidth of 576 GB/s instead of the expected 640 GB/s. Moreover, the card features lower clock speeds, with a base, game, and boost clock of 1270/1880/2245 MHz, compared to the XT’s 1385/2025/2395 MHz.

The GPU is identified as Navi 31 XL, but its package is noticeably smaller, confirming the presence of a hybrid Navi 31/32 design. This design suggests that a smaller package will be utilized for the upcoming Navi 32 graphics processor, indicating that 2 out of 6 Infinity Cache dies are disabled or dummy.

Chinese media has already tested the graphics card, and while it is slower than the RX 7900 XT, it outperforms NVIDIA’s RTX 4070. Its performance is expected to be similar to the Radeon RX 6950XT, though. Notably, AMD advertises it as the successor to the RX 6800 XT.

AMD Navi 31 GPUs as of now:

7900 XTX 96 CU 24gb
7900 XT 84 CU 20gb
7900 GRE 80 CU 16gb
7900 70 CU 16gb (MLID Claim)
Based on the fact that AMD's 80 CU 7900 GRE costs $650 & MLID claim that there would be no further reduction in GPU prices, for now, we can speculate how AMD can position the rest of the cards, as below:

80 CU 16gb 7900 GRE = $650
70 CU 16gb 7900 = $580

60 CU 16gb 7800 = $500
54 CU 16gb/12gb 7700xt = $450
48 CU 12gb 7700 = $400

32 CU 16gb 7600xt = $300-$350

60 CU 16gb 7800 = $500
Would this beat a 6800xt ? 75% of an GRE...

I can see all of this happening and being priced like this to change nothing at all in the performance per dollar offer of the market, just transition to the same performance at the same price, with AV1-better efficacy, from cheaper to make card,

RX 7600 XT to launch next month. No specs available

https://benchlife.info/amd-radeon-rx-7800-rx-7700-not-in-sales-plan/

The Radeon RX 7600 XT exists.

In the VideocardZ report As mentioned, the Russian certification website ECC(Eurasian Economic Communications) includes a list of Chinese display card brands named Arktek, which are not yet available on AMD such as Radeon RX 7600 XT, Radeon RX 7700, and Radeon RX 7800.

the Radeon RX 7600 XT is indeed on AMD's product planning and is expected to be available on the week 22 January, and at the same time, we will also see the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super.

As for 3 products, such as Radeon RX 7700, Radeon RX 7800 and Radeon RX 7900 XT, none of them are currently on AMD's existing planning list, according to our reliable information.

In other words, AMD in the first half of 2024 is only expected to have a new Radeon RX 7600 XT, there will be other accidents, most people are on vacation, there should be too many updates, that is to say, AMD still maintains the planning of 6 display cards (GRE) at this stage. In the second half of 2024, we may see the introduction of RDNA 4, which supports PCIe 5.0, which will delay RDNA 4 until 2025 if an accident occurs.

The information in the ECC database is not necessarily accurate, but it can be used as a reference and we also confirm that there will be no MBA(Made by AMD) card available for media testing at AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT.
