I guess! :playful:

Interesting. Switched to the 4-piece cable from cablemod from the 3-piece adapter that was included, and I saw a performance increase. As far as I am aware, the entry level MSI cards don't go into 600w mode, so this was a surprise.

So you're saying with the original 3-connector cable you were stuck at 100% Power Limit, but with the 4-piece you can go beyond it? Where does the slider max? Would be interested to see screenshot of the GPU-Z output of the wattage with the PL cranked.

I figured the Trio X was either hardware locked to 450W, or might be unlockable with a vBIOS from a Suprim. I was disappointed with MSI last gen where they gimped their Trio X and Ventus 3090's with only a dual-8Pin connector.

That's the thing, its still hardware locked and slider still shows being stuck at 100%. Must just be cleaner power.

anyone ever compared the 3090 NVLinked to the 4090 yet?

This is my best so far: https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/82597764

Graphics 37,342
CPU 11,907
Total 28280

I think that's about as high as I can get until I can figure out how to give it more voltage. Maybe that's only an AIB thing? I know some can hit 1.1V, but mine seems to stay at 1.05V no matter what I set in Afterburner. It crashes in 3DMark if I go much over +200 core. My overall score will never compete with a 5800x3D.

When you guys run these, what resolution is it at? I'm on an older 10900x cpu, runs at 3440x1440 give me 27535 graphics, 11382 cpu, 22702 overall. quite a bit lower. It shows me on that graph that avg is 24832.

I haven't won the silicon lottery on either of my last 2 GPU's. The 3090 showed below average as well. I just assumed my old cpu was holding it back. Waiting on a HEDT version of the 13900 cpu family before I upgrade.

40k+ GPU score... impressive...
I think my GPU is pretty average and possibly below average for a Founders Edition. I can only run +135 stable 24/7 on the core and +1600 on the memory. I can bench at 195-225 on the core and if I'm lucky +1700 on the memory, but this would crash very quickly in a demanding game like Metro Exodus.

Which proves that these bench mark tools are almost useless. What's the Point of passing a bench but the OC crashes in a real game at same OC.

Personally I just wanted to see how high I can get on the leaderboard of similar systems.

Here's my results with my 24/7 stable profile. Score isn't too much different. This is at +135 Core /+1600 Mem.

I think I can get a GPU score over 40K at my stable profile.

Made another run. This is basically a run to maximize graphics score just for fun and 3DMark HOF has a category for just the graphics score.

Anyway, this was using the Elmor EVC2 to bump core voltage to 1.15v resulting in 700-750w of power. (yep, that much) reBar forced and only 8 e cores enabled, so nerfed CPU score.

How'd you add 33% power?

FE has a 133% power slider in Afterburner. Since running the initial benchmarks I have kept her at 80%. The beast is so powerful that I tamed it a bit. There just isn't much difference in the gaming experience between limiting the power and running it full blast.

Wow that's pretty impressive do all the Fe cards have a 133% power limit is that better than any of the other cards out there?

Picked up a new MSI Suprim (non X) and plugged it in today. Great looking card and no coil whine compared to the Gaming X I had before it. Although I did not use the supplied power adapter and used a PSU specific 3x1 cablemod power connector, so maybe that may have helped with the whine?

First run: +200 core, +1250 memory, 110% PL. I am running just a 3x1 power connector, so I believe I am capped to around 450W? Upping from 105% to 115%, looks like the power usage stayed the same.

Also I had a crazy Port Royal run. No ideal how it scored so high...my 7700X clocks were reported way off where they normally run. Fastest I've seen is maybe 5850mhz...no way it hit over 6ghz.

The Suprim is the Suprim X, minus 30Mhz... which you can easily get overclocking, but still get the same awesome cooler as the "X". Also, if you use the 4-1 connector, you will get all 520W as well.

Does that only apply to the Suprim? Or all 4090s get more power with the 4-1 vs the 3-1?
