RPC Server Unavailable

I am trying to install a printer on a non networked PC. When it loads it gives me this error "RPC Server Unavailable". I went into services under admin tools and made sure it was on. Both Remote Procedure Call and Remote Procedure Call Locator are on and set to automatic. Is there something I am missing here? Like I said the PC is not part of a network at all.

Try turning off the XP firewall. That sounds like the culprit. It's in the advanced tab on the network settings.

Er, if this is not a printer share then ignore that. When you go to install the printer is it on an LPT cable or a USB printer?

Is your Spooler service running?

If it's an LPT printer is your LPT port turned on in the BIOS?
