Just wanted to run something by you guys to make sure I am not missing something easy.

I have a 192.168.0.XXX 255.255.255.0 network with the default GW as 192.168.0.1
I have a device on this network that has a static set IP of 192.168.2.1 255.255.255.0 with no gateway set. Is there anything I can do to access this with a static route, or am I stuck setting a temporary static IP for my machine (and disconnecting from the rest of my network) to access this device and change the IP to something on my normal segmant.

You have answered your own question. :p

can't you add a default gateway to the 2.1 device? if not, (although this isnt standard way of doing it) you could fool it by setting your subnet on that device to 255.255.252.0. it would then have a local route to your 0.x devices also.

hard to tell what you're doing w/o a diagram.
