Alright, here's the setup I have.
Box 1 is a Linux/Win2k3 server (Dual PIII 550, etc etc). It connects to the internet via a router. The router is on an IP of 192.168.0.250 I don't have physical access to this router. I can hower configure it (it's an SMC router with firewall).
Box 2 is my main system running Win2k3.
What I want to do is this.
Box 1 connects to the internet via the router, and then connection shares it to box 2. The 2nd ethernet card in Box 1 i have assigned an IP of 192.168.0.100. ICS is setup properly on the Linux OS and Box 1 can connect to the internet no problem (IP of 192.168.0.10).
The problem under Linux is that even with the machine being a DMZ on the Router, and having no firewall configured in Linux (shorewall is set to allow all connections), Bittorrent and other things still act as if there's a firewall present on Box 2. Box 1 has no problem.
Anyone know what might be the problem?
Under Win2k3/XP I can't get ANYTHING to happen. Nothing gets properly routed, no DNS lookups, not able to ping IPs, etc.
Cheers,
Mr. Pain
