Man what is it with the reliability of their light strips..... This is the second time I've had a strip have an issue with one led turning orange and killing the rest of the lights. I can touch the orange led (just so happens to be the very first one this time so the whole damn line is killed) and they light up fine. If I let go though the whole run cuts off leaving the first led orange.

I purchased my Hue+ on 3/12/16 and had to warranty strips 10 months ago (per the ticket system which doesn't give a specific date) It took them till 9 months ago (again it's what the ticked system states) to get me new strips. I do remember it taking a very very long time to get the damn things. They claimed they were oos for replacements. So here I am 3/4 of a year later with the same issue.

Hopefully they have done something different with their strip design. Especially since the initial led that has I'm assuming a solder issue isn't even on a bend so it just sits against my case and somehow developed a solder issue. I will add that the white on the strips has started to develop a yellow/brownish tint which I can only say is probably from heat over time since I don't smoke in the house. This is mainly at connections and not in the middle of the strips.

So the strips have lasted:
3/15/16ish--->7/*/16 (4+- months)
8/*16---->5/10/17 (9+- months)
Third times a charm for a year maybe lol smh. Of course this would put me past the 2 year warranty if the next batch lasts 12 months.

I'm sure I can't be the only one with this issue.

No idea. I do not need my case lighting up. Now my keyboard and mouse is awesome with lights.

this is the reason I decide not to buy this brand. I wrote a thread on this just the other week in this forum

Exact same thing happened to me, 8 strips, 6 failed. NZXT finally had me RMA the whole unit with the strips. They sent it back and the USPS lost the package. Been waiting for 2 months and 15 days with an open ticket asking if they had insurance or if I just have to eat it.

Something is going on with them, they are severely back logged in tickets. I'd assume over faulty LED strips like this one.

Still nothing in response to my ticket. Lol I also don't like how their white isn't really white since it keeps the other leds on at the same time. Would like to find different strips that have magnets but are white, bright, and will work with a MSI B150M Mortar Arctic because it has a 4 pin connection for light strips.

that's exactly what happened to me w/ the fan controller replacement. It failed just before the 1 yr. mark. It took me 4 mth. to get a replacement fan controller. It's not your HUE+, they are always like that. That's the reason I won't buy from them. I also checked amazon and newegg review on the HUE+, many of them caught on fire, kill the motherboard. So I decide not to buy this HUE

Had one of their 200mm white blade fans just completely stop spinning but it was hot as hell. Was real stiff when turning by hand and the back side was semi brown. They make some nice looking cases but yea seems everything is made with cheap parts and they have a half ass R&D department and a terrible support department.

That's exactly my concern as well. Their marketing was convincing a few yr. ago w/ their phantom case. Kyle review of the case didn't say anything wrong with it. But it's clear everything they made is of cheapest junk quality components, it is definitely a brand new to avoid.

How long have you use your 200 mm fan before it dies? and is it a LED fan?

And this is my thread on Apr. 22, it's posted well before your post:

in the end, I decided a light show is one thing, but the risk of a PC on fire is not worth it

It was maybe 9-12 months. It was one of the black frame white blade fans. Non led.

get used to it. the more stories I read about NZXT, the more convinced I am not to buy anything from them. I can't believe I wasted 2 hr. on that HUE+ by watching Youtube video. I should have read those amazon / newegg review first, and find out they caught on fire, burn the motherboard and be done w/ it
