Man what is it with the reliability of their light strips..... This is the second time I've had a strip have an issue with one led turning orange and killing the rest of the lights. I can touch the orange led (just so happens to be the very first one this time so the whole damn line is killed) and they light up fine. If I let go though the whole run cuts off leaving the first led orange.
I purchased my Hue+ on 3/12/16 and had to warranty strips 10 months ago (per the ticket system which doesn't give a specific date) It took them till 9 months ago (again it's what the ticked system states) to get me new strips. I do remember it taking a very very long time to get the damn things. They claimed they were oos for replacements. So here I am 3/4 of a year later with the same issue.
Hopefully they have done something different with their strip design. Especially since the initial led that has I'm assuming a solder issue isn't even on a bend so it just sits against my case and somehow developed a solder issue. I will add that the white on the strips has started to develop a yellow/brownish tint which I can only say is probably from heat over time since I don't smoke in the house. This is mainly at connections and not in the middle of the strips.
So the strips have lasted:
3/15/16ish--->7/*/16 (4+- months)
8/*16---->5/10/17 (9+- months)
Third times a charm for a year maybe lol smh. Of course this would put me past the 2 year warranty if the next batch lasts 12 months.
I'm sure I can't be the only one with this issue.
