Thanks to these guys, we are all going to die at the hands of robots.

Think that's interesting, watch the new episode of Through the Wormhole. It's on robotics. Some pretty advanced stuff in the works, they're teaching them how to learn, and how to develop their own language.
Asimov has an entirely library of why the robot didn't kick his assIf it's so smart, how come it didn't kick the guy's ass who hit him with that wrecking ball?

I believe the proper terminology you're looking for for #3 is "strategically deliver munitions."The 3 Rules of DARPA:
1) Find new technology.
2) Get it working.
3) Kill

Robots One Step Closer To Killing Us All.
I think function robots based on DOGG from HL and AMEE from Red Planet would be excellent platforms:It has often puzzled me why they are trying mimic humans.
2 legs makes little sense. 3-4 are better.
Articulation of fingers should apply to all limbs.
No front or back. Both sides should function equally.
Fixed length geometry. Legs/Arms should be able to get longer or shorter.
2 close set eyes. WTF? At least 3 spaced 120° apart, if not 4. And a Periscope eye that extends upward.
Collapsed mode should be as short as possible, but extended mode should be at least human height to operate human devices.
etc.

Oh boy...Us humans are kind of infatuated with ourselves. I mean we love ourselves so much we invented Gods who then invented us because we are just too perfect to exist any other way.
Oh boy...
Not meaning to turn this into a religious debate, but it is true.
most religious text have a phrase like 'So God created mankind in his own image' and all religious text are at a minimum interpreted by man....mostly likely completely invented by man.
We invasion aliens to look like humans
We make robots to look like humans
We see human faces in everything from tree's to toast
Humans seek to see themselves in everything.
That's why a Corvette looks like a big penis?
I need a robot that can cut the grass.
you know that's not a bad Idea. They have that stupid robot that roams around your house and vacuums. They could do a solar version of that for your lawn. Only downside would be the obvious theft of the robot.

I've got a question if anyone can answer. Now I'm not an engineer and can't find anything online pertaining to this so here goes...
Why can't we make robots that run biologically? Still inorganic of course...but do we not have the science and materials to make a robot powered off oxygen and what not? Instead of big ass motors and stuff that need a backpack sized lithium-ion battery to be powered for 30 minutes wouldn't a more biological self-power producing robot be better? Something with artificial muscles, hearts (don't we have robotic hearts now?), circulatory system, etc.
Shouldn't we strive for that more than something like what we see here?
Or we're so infatuated with ourselves we need to mock the notion of a being greater than ourselves.Us humans are kind of infatuated with ourselves. I mean we love ourselves so much we invented Gods who then invented us because we are just too perfect to exist any other way.
