"Run away!!! Run away!!!" will not be working much longer. At least not for you fat bastards. The skinny fast people still have a chance. And if you are standing next to Usain Bolt when the attack happens, you are screwed for sure, that guys is fast.

Check out the video here.

Video depicting ihmc's work on the Planar Elliptical Runner. The Planar Elliptical Runner is a running robot that can run about 12 miles per hour on a treadmill. It is sandwhiched between two plates of glass, which keep it in the sagittal plane.

Robots can just have wheels or tracks. They don't need to run faster to kill you.

AI than can write it's own code, autonomous drones, pack mule robots and now robots that can run us down. We are all going to die.

Having functional legs will be an important step for robots to chase us up stairs (or other human friendly structures) to terminate us.

So it can run sandwiched in between glass... for now we're safe.

Until they give it one of these:

This is asinine. It's already been established that you don't have to be the faster of the two to catch someone who's running away; all you have to do, is coordinate with others on your side, and manipulate the runner into a trap. Police do it all the time. Soon the borg robots will do the same thing, as they're all of one interconnected mind.

This does not impress me at all. Call me when they can get it to run without direct support to keep it upright longer than half a step. Pretty sure Boston Dynamics have superior running bots.

what a stupid robot , running between two walls :D .
AI always depends on code you've put into , it will always be a step or few steps behind compared to our brain .
You're right its way faster in doing stupid things , just as a computer . But in ways of flexibility and adaptation its lightyears behind :D

But can it stop, turn, and run in a straight line without glass support and falling? What an amateur program.

Good job, ROBOT COLLABORATOR !
