RMA Replacement Choice Help: CF 6870 or 1 7850

One of my CF 6870 1GB cards stopped working so through the RMA process they have offered be a 7850 2GB to replace it. I know I cannot CF a 7850 with a 6870 but would it be worthwhile to just take the 7850 for now and grab another one on sale down the line or try and see if they can get another 6870 and continue with CF? I currently have 1920x1200 monitor but will be upgrading relativly soon (couple of months) to a 27" 2560x1440.

I would get the 7850 for sure... I think the 7850 is something like a 6950.

Get the 7850 and sell the 6870 to put towards a second 7850.

That's not a bad idea. You could get $230 for the cards, sell the games that come with the 7950, and have some money left over for a beer (or soda).

Would be a significant upgrade from xfire 6870.

I agree, I have many asus products and when I rarely have to RMA them it is easy and in this case just plain awesome.

Lol, I wish I did, but as it turns out you don't need to know anyone!

Or perhaps if you did know someone they would have slipped you a couple of 7950s
