I'm trying to find a decent MMO that is F2P and not massively P2W.

These two seem to be the top candidates.

We'll, I dled both Rift and Wildstar.

At least Wildstar appears somewhat different even in the first 5 minutes.

Rift feels like WoW mixed with Aion. Both of which I've played to where I no longer care....
 
i vote neither also

swtor, gw2, eso or wow are the top ones these days

personally, i'm just sorta waiting for the 'next' big mmo...mmorpg.com can give you some ideas of those

I still think its a dieing genre...people don't have time anymore for the traditional 'grind' that the genre has established...we really, really need a new formula

I don't think it's dead MMORPGS by far just takes alot persuasion to the community. If it's a foreign made RPG it will be good for a while. If it's a USA made RPG usually has a bigger following if done right.
 
Get past level 7 in Rift and get into a Boss Rift Raid for that area. Huge bosses spawn in all the areas after the Newby zone.
 
Neverwinter Nights online was the most interesting F2P.

Guild Wars 2 buy to play was fun too.
