So i jump on the bandwagon and play some HL2 and CS Source. I am thinking, well since i have a 9800 pro with a p4 2.6 (oc'ed to 2.86) that it isnt going to run that well, maybe being lucky if i get 50-60 fps. Lo and behold, constant 70 fps and many times high 80s, low 90's and sometimes100's. We all bashed Valve for advertising the 9xxx series as the series of choice for HL2, well i dont think it was in vain, it works quite well. I am thoroughly happy. Oh btw it is iwth all settings on fully high, AA on 4x and 1024x768. :)

My GeForce 3 ti200 runs it fine at 800x600 medium details. It is amazing how source engine is so scalable. It looks really nice too on my system.

just a quick question quiksilverx181, why do u have your 2.6 only clocked at 2.86?? I have the C version of that chip and i can do 3.2Ghz. Do u have the C version or have u just hit the limit of that cpu. Just curious

My GeForce3 Ti200 plays the game beautifully @ 1024x768 at medium settings....I'll be sad to see this card go tomorrow (6800 Ultra coming in tomorrow)...it's treated me so well...overclocked very well too. Incase you're considering overclocking yours, I'm running mine at 215MHz Core and 490MHz Memory.

Yeah both the 9700pro and 9800pro are still real good cards. I am sure they will be able to handle everything they put out for the next 1year or so... My 9700pro ran doom3 on high settings just fine......
