pop the top and check the guts for buldgy caps or signs of overheating/discolouring. if it looks good give it a go. if it has degraded at all, all that will probably happen is a power off under really heavy loads. kyle had that with a older 1k psu and a 6950xt. nvidia is trying to create the new single connector standard but you can adapt to it.I'm going to be building a PC (likely AM5) soon and figured I'd reuse my SS-1200XP3 power supply. I got the PSU late 2015. Anything I need to be aware of? Are there new standards out now that would require me to get a new PSU?
OK cool so I don't need to worry about any new PSU standards that have come out since 2015. If you haven't dismantle your PC, then you may stress test your PC and check the PSU rails on HWInfo.I'm going to be building a PC (likely AM5) soon and figured I'd reuse my SS-1200XP3 power supply.
