Return of mDTX ... at Asrock

that are close to the Mini-DTX specification: 8.00-in x 6.70-in (203.20 mm x 170.18 mm)

I've really started to love how Asrock has been choosing to do something different even when they don't have to. (Such as pulling off ITX X99)

Unfortunately, the first board is quite a bit longer than ITX, so it wouldn't fit into most of the cases the do currently support mDTX.

It looks similar (in length at least) to the Shuttle motherboards that go in XPCs. Would work in a bunch of Silverstone's cases too. Although with the x16 slot on the outside it would end up limiting for video cards.

I like the right-angle PCIe slot designs. Those would work really well in the slim tower type enclosures, assuming it lines up in a way where the case isn't expecting some kind of adapter.

I don't understand how the GPU connects. I wish they would show them off in a build.

Unless you're watercoolilng the GPU. It still limits your options because not all have single slot I/O, but at least in theory you can pack a decent punch in there.

These boards were introduced in 2016 but due to the entirely new chassis requirements they didn't catch on much. I would guess an OEM would like them for a console like PC.
