i purchased 3 new oem drives from newegg and when i registered the serial numbers it said 3 years on the 1tb drive and 5 years on the raptors

so did WD screw up?

Since Raptors are their enthusiast class of hard drives, they get the longer warranty. So no screwup

even oem? that doesn't explain my oem 1tb gp drive with the 3 year warranty

What's the problem exactly? WD, like most HDD manufacturers have, given both their OEM and Retail drives the same warranty period. WD only offers a 3 year warranty on it's consumer drives.

ok that make sense. the problem is i was under the assumption that oem drives were not warrentied. the drive is an oem wd10eacs
