Reselling UTM's on eBay?

Hey, does anyone know the rules for reselling a 'used' UTM firewall on eBay or the like? Things like Fortinets, Sonicwalls and Watchguards have UTM licenses, so I wasn't sure.

I know if you do a tradeup with Watchguard, the old unit cannot be transferred and no upgrades or licenses can be applied to it.

same for sonicwalls.
If they have a valid support contract and are not traded up they can be transferred to another party.
If the transferring party does not have a support contract they are boat anchors.

I've transfered ownership of several SonicWalls without issue without support contract. They only requested the previous owners name and a picture of the serial number on the bottom. Even some purchased on ebay.

The last sonicwall I went to transfer they would not do so without a service contract that was a while ago however.

Maybe pre-dell SonicWall? I transferred them through dell.
