Repotec or D-Link? Noticeable Difference?

Hi guys, im thinking about putting a gigabit network in at the office (weve run out of ports and need a new switch anyway, so thought may as well go Gbe).

I can get some Repotec Gbe NICs for about $17AUD, and an 8port Repotec 10/100/100 Switch for $125AUD.


I can get DLink equivalents for $29AUD and $179AUD respectively.


Is the brand going to make much of a difference at all? I mean im not going to buy 3Com stuff or anything, and Dlink is about as expensive as im prepared to go (plus we have DLink Router etc already).

What kind of difference is it going ot make? and is it noticeable, or worth it?

Never heard of that company so I can't comment, i'd personal do some higher end quality Linksys switches

Probably wouldn't be a big deal. It's all cheap stuff to me -- try out the repotec stuff and let us know how it goes.
