so, i got a new ipod touch 8GB for christmas, and now need to pull the *non-itunes* music from my old 4GB nano. how do i go about doing that? i tried google, and there's a TON of software out there. i would like a recommendation.

BTW, I'm a PC user.

thanks!

The only way on the PC that I've found is to connect to the iPod in disc mode (it shows up as a drive regardless in XP) and enable viewing hidden folders. All the folders and file names will be jumbled but if you have properly tagged files it shouldnt be too big of an issue if you use something like iTunes. Copy everything off of the iPod onto your local hd and then import it into iTunes and sync to the new iPod.

Kind of a ghetto way but it does work.

You probably already solved it but ephpod works great to take content off of an iPod and transfer it to your pc. Its free you can DL it by searching Google for ephpod.
