refurbished monitor worth it?

Well, 90day vs 3 year warranty. and it's only $35 when you get your rebate.

I wouldn't.

A monitor isn't like video card or CPU, which either works or does not. A monitor with serious defects, such as dead pixels, ghosting, or backlight bleeding, can still be advertised and sold as a fully functional monitor. Moreover, because you're considering a monitor that already had problems, the chances that you'll get one of inferior quality are even greater.

I ordered two referb monitors from Tigerdirect a while back, bad idea, granted they took them back no questions asked but, 1 had 5-6 dead pixels, the other 3-4. My ultra pet peeve, if I purchase a monitor for myself and it has a dead pixel, its going back.

I have purchased a number of factory refurbished products and never had any problems. They are identical to new.

Completely agree considering the 90 day vs 3 yr warranty. If it were 90 day vs a 1 yr, it might be another story, but 3 yrs wty is a big deal anymore (considering a lot of wtys are being reduced typically).
