Recovering WHS Veil Data...

Server hardware went bad with a PSU surge or something... so I tossed the hard drive into another system and it sees "DE Disk" with 0 bytes free space, 32.7MB used (but nothing on it). In Disk Management I see that it has 1337GB (haha) FAT32, but capacity still says 33mb/0mb free.

I had about a terabyte of stuff on there. Is there any way to get it back? The hard drive scans fine - no problems with it. I just can't seem to get the data off what used to be in the data storage area.

Go to disk manager and see if if you can import a foreign disk.

Hmm, no option. It's not saying foreign, it's saying "Healthy (Primary Partition)".

As far as I know you can only read a Vail data disk in Vail.

So I'd need to make a new install of Vail somewhere and hope that it would read?

You think that maybe Vail in a VM, then mounting the drive inside that VM would work?
