Hello,

Whats the best video card for 3dsmax application? I have installed 3dsmax designs 2012.

I need your opinion on this.

Thanks,

Mark

Iray gpu support only works on CUDA

also 2012 max and maya have physx support in the viewport for real time physics viewing.
physx on gpu is nvida only.

And the cost of theose quatro and firegl is only worth it if you do it as a pro and that is how you make your living it is almost the same GPU with some extra features for pro rendering that ups the quailty of your renderings and being stable in pro apps. they cost thosands.

Not worth it if you are a student or anything else other than a pro that works at pixar or nintendo or something a high end video game GPU will do the job just fine. Most renders are CPU only anyway mental ray I see no GPu support for it and vray does not come with max unless you have the version for people who make buildings.

fuzzy ball pluging uses cuda most plugins use cuda.

so in other words the only thing the gpu will be doing is veiwport stuff most of the time unless you buy a another rendering program because 2012 only comes with the old rendering program you will never use, and mental ray and iray (that is only for a render preview not final rendering you will sstill use mental ray to make the final render,.)
