Having put together a new Ryzen 2700X, I've decided to get a new monitor to go with it.

I am looking at a 32" QHD, I think. I'm not opposed to 4k either. I would like to keep it around $350 or less.

Right now, I have it narrowed down to this Monopice or this HP Omen.

I also found this Monopice QHD
Found in the Hot Deals section was this LG at Microcenter.

I have a Vega64 video card, and the newest/most demanding game I would be playing is Witcher 3.

Between those two, I'd pick the Omen. 4K will be too much for a single Vega 64, and 75Hz is at least a little better than 60.

I have Vega 64 Crossfire on a 4K FreeSync TV. On newer games it can just get over 60 fps, older in the 80 - 90 fps range.

With one you might be able to do 4K with lower settings, but at that point you might as well go 1440p and keep the graphics up.

What monitor are you using now? Would you be interested in ultrawide?

I recently bought an LG 34" 21:9 1080p monitor and it's been amazing. I was coming from 27" 1440p, and I lost some visual fidelity and screen real estate, but I really love the ultrawide aspect ratio and immersion. For productivity you should go 1440p, but if you just game 1080p is sufficient.

That said, games still look HD but it kind of has a softer image similar to console games. Even so, I think it was a good compromise going 1080p as now I can run games at ultra and not have to worry about poor performance (in my case, I had 3 monitor Surround and it was too intensive).

This one is in your price range: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIAC4Z5KX0157

If you can spring the cash, the FreeSync version of the monitor I got goes to 144Hz, which is really nice. Not sure if you've used high refresh before, it's a game changer just like FreeSync.

Some things to consider.

I'm not stuck on those two, those are just what I found. I am definitely open to other options. What is your opinion about the 2nd Monoprice one I found? That one is QHD, and also 144Hz, although a VA panel.

I hadn't considered ultrawide, but I want to go higher than 1080p. My current monitor is an Acer P241w (16:10)
