Oh man this brings back memories
I backed this game at the supporter tier, and have been playing the alpha since day one. I won't say much since they take the NDA seriously (not sure how they got permission to make the video above). I'm hopeful it'll be good, though. It's still very alpha. I question if the beta will really be ready for June, but I also don't know how close the released alpha is to where they are internally. There aren't frequent updates, so I'm hoping there is a lot of progress I'm not seeing.
The foundation that is there, feels good. It's without a doubt a spiritual successor to SWAT 4, which is exactly what I wanted it to be. SWAT 4 is one of my favorite games of all time, all I wanted was a modern version of that. With enough polish, I am confident RON will be that game.
What I needed to hear. I still think they're better off not showing PvP gameplay if they don't have anything ready for SP/co-op.
I need this to be good.
The name is absolutely terrible. They plan on changing it right?
I'm neutral on it. I don't think it really personifies what the game is about, but I also don't care. Maybe the though process was that a well known, cliche saying would make it more memorable or more likely to catch the attention of someone who doesn't pay attention to the niche tactical FPS genre?
Notice: At the request of the publisher, Ready Or Not is unlisted on the Steam store and will not appear in search.
Doesn't sound good, not sure why they'd do that. Been waiting to pre-order for a while. They apparently have two weapon DLCs now, which is annoying to say the least. Wonder how much the game plus DLC will be day one.
Wow that looks very bad...I would bet most traind swat guys could keep fighting easily also as said they have goggles on.....I think CSS played betterlol so if you have a full mask on and get pepper sprayed you can't shoot back? lol okay
Looks like something from 2005 gameplay wise
Apparently they had changed a lot of things prior without proper testing for that event. Things like weapon orientation in first person got screwed up, hence the odd twisted wrists when sprinting with pistols. PvP, as expect, looks like crap. As long as the SP and co-op are still the main modes that isn't that big of an issue. Apparently the weapon handling has gotten better again from what I have heard as well as some of the other janky things. But still a way to go I assume. Doubt it will hit the 2020 release date.
They should not have done their whole PVP event that they did. The game wasn't ready to be shown off and PVP isn't what people wanted anyway. I am also pretty skeptical of a 2020 release, and honestly at this point I'm almost hoping it gets pushed to 2021. I'd rather wait to get the game done right.
I'm more interested in the fact that Nvidia seems to think this is going to end up early access in Steam. No official mention has been made of that anywhere by the devs, but Nvidia is saying it in multiple locations. This game will be getting RTX.

Not too sure how this has been progressing but seems like they're getting a fair bit done but I am doubting the beta will be out later this year. For me I'm waiting until release. At best, pre-order for a discount and try the beta just a tiny bit to check out basic mechanics.

I'm happy to see this though. Rtx support should get the game more exposure. I really, really want this game to succeed.
Looks like it is getting DLSS support as well.

In other news, seems like the beta is pushed back. Sounds like it won't get released until late 2021 at this point. If Nvidia is marketing it, I assume they must have had some back and fourth with the developers which gives me some confidence despite the delays.
It definitely needs work. The videos linked earlier look atrocious.

Yep, beta was pushed back until June 2021. Assuming they meet that goal, should make for a late-summer to early-fall 2021 release. Which, as someone who paid $120 for this game, I'm fine with it. If I have to choose between having a game soon, and having a game good... it will always be the later. I want this game to be good more than i've ever wanted any game to be good. I will wait however long it takes to make that happen.
I'm trying to take Nvidia's involvement in this game as a good thing. I don't know if Nvidia is giving them money... but they are certainly giving them exposure. I'd like to think they wouldn't do that unless they've seen something that their early backers have not.
Just hoping this doesn't become another Takedown.
