I installed SBS on my home network like this:

CABLE ---------- Router (192.168.1.1) ---------------- Server (dhcp assigned nic 1 and static 192.168.2.100. ----------------- Switch--- clients (dhcp server assigned) .

When I connect to the internet on my client machines now, it takes alot of time to resolve the name before it goes to the website. It seems to be quick after it does it once, but if I wait a little bit, it takes a long time again. Whats going on here? I do not have the network setup in a domain-client situation, I am slowly working to get there, trying to keep the other machines up as I transition over to a domain.

All sites or sites like microsoft.com and yahoo.com?

Is the server also slow to resolve or only the clients?

Also, client machine should have the server ip (and only the server IP) under DNS server.

The DHCP Server in SBS doesn't assign the dns numbers to the client computer? The server resolves quickly, no hesitation there. So I will try to change the dns information for the client computer to reflect the server as a dns server.
