So my wife's mouse tried to update it's firmware last night. As the title states, the update failed, and left the mouse not working at all. At first I tried to uninstall the drivers/software etc. Windows read the mouse as "razer bootloader", after uninstalling and reinstalling the software, now the mouse shows as "unknown device". The drivers won't install at all now. The only way razer offers drivers is through synapse 2.0 which tells me no razer mouse is detected. I'm thinking I probably bricked it........

This is a message from Razer Support,

We are sorry about the problems you have experienced with the Synapse update to your Razer Naga Hex. We have a manual version of the firmware update that should quickly revive your mouse. Simply click on the link below and extract the zip file to your desktop. From there run the "DeviceUpdater.exe" file and follow the on screen instructions to flash the firmware to your unit.

Please note this manual version will set the color of your Naga Hex interface to Red instead of Green. You can choose to keep the red interface and it will have no effect on the performance of your mouse. If you prefer the green interface we will soon follow up with you and forward you a firmware version that contains the proper green interface.

tried that and still no luck. won't update cause no razer mouse detected.
I've seen a few posts online where the download above works, and I wanted to post it here in case anyone needs it.
Does anyone have any other idea's I can try?

Just got a new message from Razer, I'll try this when I get home today.

After downloading the new Naga Hex firmware updater, put the mouse in "Manual Boot-loader" mode.

Manual Boot-loader Steps:

1. After extracting or unzipping the new firmware updater, manually launch the Firmware update "DeviceUpdater.exe" file.

2. Before clicking "Next", un-plug the mouse and hold down the (Left click>Right click and Scroll button) all at the same time.

3. Now reconnect the Naga Hex to the computer and after 5 seconds release the four buttons. Windows should detect a new USB device and you should be able to proceed with the update by pressing next on the firmware updater.

*Should the firmware update fail, please exit the firmware updater and run the firmware updater again.*

I had same issue, and same support email. worked like a charm for me.

My version of the firmware link looks different than yours.

Should the update fail, Please follow the instructions below.

Try this method and it should help. Please note, it is helpful if you have a second mouse connected during the firmware update as the mouse may be unresponsive during the updating procedure.

1) Manually launch the Firmware update program.

2) Before clicking "Next", un-plug the mouse and hold down the Left click, Right click and Scroll buttons at the same time.

3) Now reconnect the mouse to the computer and after 5 seconds release the three buttons. Windows should detect a new USB device and the update should proceed.
*Should the firmware update fail, please exit the firmware updater and run the firmware updater again. If possible, you may want to try the firmware update on another system

Here's what I had to do to fix it.

Bootloader file to download:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/34382161/Razer Bootloader.zip

Please unzip that to your desktop.

With the Naga Hex Plugged in please open Device Manager
Find the undetected device
Right click and go to find device driver
follow the prompts to direct the installer to the folder you unzipped the drivers to.
Once the device installs follow these updated directions:

Followed those instructions, and it's working great again.
