Just looking, a thing about the memory issue on that mobo, did you try with a different chip?
The memory controller is on the cpu itself, this is a common issue on amd chips where the memory controller malfunctions and will only work in single channel, i currently have a phenom that will only detect memory when its on slots 1 and 3
