Hey Guys, decided since my work gave me a macbook pro that I would go back to using a desktop for my home use. This is the setup I am going with:

Case: Lian Li PCV351B
Mobo: Asus Rampage 2 Gene
CPU: Intel Core i7 920 (using the noctua nh-c12p heatsink)
Ram: 12gb Gskill ram
Video: EVGA GTX280 (Got it for 200, should work for now)
HD: 1tb WD HD (Going to add another in the coming weeks)
PSU: Corsair 850HX PSU

Going to use 2x Dell G241's that my work gave to me for free.

What do you guys think??

Yah man. The 850 Watt Corsair with 70A on the +12V would be more suitable if you were running 2 x GTX 275/280 in SLI or 2 x Radeon HD 4890 1GB in Xfire.

I'm with them on the PSU, however if you ever decide to go crossfire i would keep the 850hx. If you could change that 280 for a 4890 it would also be less expensive and you would have the option for crossfire later.

I don't see a need for SLI or Xfire for a 24" 1920 x 1200 res monitor. A GTX 280 1GB video card is pretty good already for a 24". Unless that is... you are crazy about cranking up Anti Aliasing and Anisotropic Filter settings in the game. Getting a 2nd GTX 280 in SLI would require you a more beefier PSU. But, I would just upgrade to 1 better video card later on instead. Enjoy the GTX 280 card for now and maybe upgrade to a new Nvidia or ATI video card with DX 11 support later. A Corsair 620HX with 50A +12V handles a Radeon HD 4870X2 or GTX 295 video card just fine. A 30" 2560x1600 res display, I would definitely go SLI or Xfire for sure.

Ok I will do this then, take out the GTX280 and 850HX and sub the GTX285 and 620HX.

Why not go with a 4850x2 rather than the 285, it would save you a couple bucks with about identical or better performance.

I would just keep the GTX 280 and get the Corsair 620HX PSU. Besides, you only paid $180 for that GTX 280 1GB.
