I currently have one stick of 512 in my computer, it is 333mhz, and I have the opportunity to get another stick for like 15 dollars brand new. The catch is the stick I could buy is only 266mhz, How much would this affect my system performance?

I know someone on here knows the answer to this... :p
what do you do with your rig? if you just browse the internet and poke about, you won't notice the difference. if you get into gaming.. well, it depends on what the rest of your rig is :p

i actually think you should get a 333mhz stick ........
the speed reduction will hurt your performance if your cpu has a 333 fsb, if you have a 266fsb then go for it !!!!

I don't play really cpu demanding games, occasionally counter-strike and grand theft auto. But I was wondering if just having that much more would cancel out the fact of it slowing down, for how I use it anyways.

By the way it is a Sempron 2500 Socket-A, 333mhz.

It's still worth getting 1Gb even if you have to lower your speeds to 266mhz.

i agree, normal everyday stuff and light gaming (no Bf2 Farcry and the like), you should notice an improvement
