How many of the new SATA3 SSD drives will be needed to saturate PCIE?

What about the LSI RAID controllers most are using?

I`m wondering if now is a good time to step up to another controller, or wait for something newer so it will work with the next gen SSD in raid, or raid right now with multi-drives.

Just curious what kind of limits are out there on the bus and cards themselves :D

The most i've seen used are 8 c300's on a lsi 9265i. Used about half the available bandwidth over a pcie 1.0 8x connection. I doubt you are going to be limited by any hba unless you are putting 15+ sata3 drives in raid 0
