Raid card on these mobos?

I used an Adaptec 3085 with an ION board a while back (6+ months). It worked fine. Still haven't tried one of those H55/ H57 boards. Darn Fry's and their $99 H55 mATX + i3-540 deals!

Yes, though often the PCI-e x16 slots have a x8 link instead - still a decent 4GB/s if you have 500MHz PCIe 2.0 cards. For example the new Supermicro SAS HBA that also has 6Gbps SATA ports.

I think H55/H57 boards have the ability to use one x16 set off the chip. The x16 can't be split, so the only way you see two x16 (physical) slots on H55/H57 boards is an electrical/physical x16 + a physical x16 + x4 electrical running from the southbridge. The big question on the ITX boards is if that is the x16 or x4 electrical. My sense is that they would be x16 since that's probably easier than having to pull off the southbrdige and it is probably better if you are using a GPU.

Good news then i guess!
I think I'll buy an intel one as soon as it becomes available locally.
