Radeon HD 3450 256MB $49.99

Good to see they are finaly coming out. I noticed the 3650s are hitting too but some stores are being goofy with them. Theyre charging $20-$30 more than a 3850 which is what, at least double the performance of a 3650?

Wow, look at the stats on those things.

The 3450 looks god awful. 3650 looks decent.

Market is either "word processor" users, or HTPC use I would imagine. Can't really argue for 50 bucks if it has UVD and is passively cooled. If you don't play games and/or need two DVIs you might as well get this.

Did this card have HDMI adaptor? I didn't see...

pricing on the 3650 doesn't make sense to me....it needs to be closer to something like $120-130 imo. at the $160 price point, you can spend like $20 more and get a 3850 which has like somewhere between double and triple the performance.

the 3450/3470 seems to be a good option for basic pc users though, especially those wanting to run vista smoothly. id definitely look into these cards if i was putting something together for your typical "email and word processing" user....anything to get away from an integrated solution *shudder*.

I've kind of fallen behind the times and don't know where my old x800xt would fit against this $50 card any more.

Thoughts?

what do you want from a 50 dollar card?

Maybe the 3850/70 and 8800gt has me spoiled, but I was looking for 75-100 spu's on 3450 and 150-175 on the 3650. The pricing is a little weird like the other poster said. You're getting 2-3x the performance without a huge premium.

I was going to jump on a 2600xt the other week for a htpc but read the 3650 was right around the corner. I held out because numerous sites said the SRP was $99, which I figured I would find it for or less with a rebate. The 3450 SRP is $50 which newegg is charging along with their $99 Sapphire 3650. Odd that neweggs not the one price gouging. Im guessing other site have it jacked up because the other vendors cards arent widly available yet. I also find it very funny theyre charging $170 for the 1GB version of the 3650. I cant imagine the extra ram coming in handy for an HTPC so youd only be interested in that for gaming. But you can get a 3850 for the same price, even $10 less AR. Seems like a waste but I bet theyll catch the uninformed with it.
